Davenport, IA – St. Ambrose Esports (SAU Esports) is proud to announce our partnership with Ray Dasher, an eyewear company out of southern California, for the fall 2022 to spring 2023 season. While the creative innovation happens in California, Ray Dasher products are crafted in Greece and Italy.

CEO Ray Shehabi is thrilled to extend this partnership with St. Ambrose for the upcoming year.

“We stand for providing timeless products that create a healthier space in our everyday lives and activities,” said Shehabi. “Ray Dasher is particularly excited to partner up with St. Ambrose University (SAU) Esports because this affiliation gives us the ability to work closely with students and gamers by offering a healthier gaming space with our state-of-the-art Blue Blocking Lenses. SAU is a grassroots-oriented, community-driven, hands-on program which mentors aspiring young esports professionals in preparation for their career.”

SAU Esports Partnerships Manager Michael Cheng believes the contract with Ray Dasher will add a new quality of life for members of the program.

“With this Partnership between SAU Esports and Ray Dasher we hope to bring the best for our student athletes and elevate the standard for professionalism and healthier lifestyles,” said Cheng. “A large focus in the esports space revolves around the decline of player health at an early age and we hope our glasses take the steps into protecting all players eyesight for a long lasting career.”

In the spring of 2022, Ray Dasher engaged with SAU Esports to provide program members with a variety of fashionable face masks, smart wallets, blue light glasses, and sunglasses. As an extension of this initial partnership, Ray Dasher supplied raffled merchandise in the form of the aforementioned items for the regional fighting games event Honeypot 3: Save the Bees on April 16, 2022. Initiatives similar to the events of spring 2022 will carry forward into spring 2023.

SAU Esports Team Manager and competitor Albert “AlbyFresh” Rassavong was sponsored by Ray Dasher to travel to events during the summer of 2022.

“Working with Ray Dasher has been one of my best experiences with a sponsor I’ve ever had,” said Rassavong. “They’re friendly, cooperative and supportive of whatever I do, more than a sponsor they feel like a family to me!”

Shehabi believes the significance of this partnership could crack open the door for servicing the vast majority of the collegiate esports space.

“This partnership between SAU Esports and Ray Dasher is a significant deal because this is the first time an eyewear company approaches this particular industry with one goal in mind, and that is to provide a healthier gaming space for students and gamers around the world.” Shehabi continues by stating, “We are excited to witness the students reap the benefits of a healthier workspace. Hours of screen time can lead to long-term eye strain and sight damage. So we take pride in alleviating that problem by providing handmade blue light glasses in that space.”
